Our Achievements

Forums
CA has grown in strides since its inception in 2006. From national forums with a paltry 30 in attendance to the one held on November 13th 2008 where over 350 attended and participated with vitality. The forum held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) dealt with Agenda 4 of the National Accord laid out by the Kofi Annan lead team after the violent election of 2007.
Regional forums since April 2009 have mobilised citizens to take interest in and non-violently demand (from leaders) and seek (among themselves) solutions to issues facing them.

Networking
We have a strong network that encompasses various grassroots organisations that deal with social welfare, university faculty, university students and partners in the NGO sector. CA is thus able to mobilise and engage citizens in being involved in the processes that govern their lives. We provide a space where the voices of wananchi, which are often drowned out, can be heard. Networking has led to coordination of activities in which all parties have a common agenda. As a result, there is less duplication of activities and we make use of the different skill areas each organisation has.

Working with persons with disabilities
Through the Kenya Society for the blind project in Kericho CA is monitoring the implementation of the Disability Act and has held activities aimed at championing the rights of persons with disabilities.

Working with the youth
CA has been working with youth in various sectors such as sports, political parties and youth groups.
CA has held sporting activities in different parts of the country.

Working with the media
In appreciation of the role of the media in shaping public opinion we work closely with the media.
